Asian Women in Aerospace and Aviation Inc., a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization was founded by Anh-Thu Nguyen to encourage, empower, and engage the next generation of Asian female pilots, Aerospace Engineers, and STEM professionals. We achieve our mission through mentorship, scholarships, and discounted flight training. We are headquartered in Miami, Florida at 7201 S Airport Road #604, Pembroke Pines, FL 33023.

Even though the current civil aviation industry is hindered due to the Covid-19 pandemic, CAE recently released a forecast that includes an international demand of over 260,000 new pilots over the next 10 years.

At the same time, only 5% of all pilots and only about 13% of all U.S. aerospace engineering graduates are women. The number of Asian women, however, is less than 0.5%. These low percentages have surprisingly been consistent over the last century. Overcoming the underrepresented Asian female aerospace engineers and the expected imminent shortage of pilots offers a huge opportunity to increase the number of Asian women in aerospace and aviation.

Having inspired 25 million people worldwide, our mission is to increase visibility, increase awareness, and increase the number of female Asian pilots, aerospace engineers, and female Asians in STEM. It’s essential to involve more Asian women in the aerospace and aviation industries and construct the necessary talent pipeline to meet future demands.

You can choose to be a pilot, an aerospace engineer, or why not both?
